Close Victory
A close victory refers to a victory that is costly for both the victor and the defeated.

These victories are supposed to be considered in proper grammar "Strategic victory" for the winner because they won the battle. The loser claims a "Tactical victory" for inflicting heavy losses on their opposing team. For example: the Battle of Kawanakajima was a strategic victory for the Takeda Clan but the Uesugi Clan came close to winning and rewarded with the title of tactical victory.
